Volunteer Orientation

Set-up and activity prep will be held on:

This is your chance to help shape the future of the next generation of women in construction. By volunteering your time, you will help students in grades 6-12^th learn more about construction and the trades. It is an experience you will never forget. Please sign up today!

Please see descriptions of camper activities below. You will be assisting with these activities and acting as a monitor for campers during these activities. PPE will be required while outside the classroom.

MONDAY

Group Leader Shifts: 8 am – 12 pm and 12 pm – 4 pm

PPE & Safety Overview

Return Camper Take Home Build TBD

Next-Day Activity Prep Shift: 4 pm – 6 pm

Clean up and prepare for the next day’s activities.

TUESDAY

Group Leader Shifts: 8 am – 12 pm and 12 pm – 4 pm

Safety refresh for return campers
Plumbing/Mechanical/HVAC Lesson & Soldering Demo
Project Steppingstones Completion

Return Campers Field Trips Chaperones Shift: 8 am – 4 pm

PPE Overview
Travel to Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 286 Training Center for all-day hands-on lessons led by UA 286.
You will need to commit to being at the location all day.

Next Day Activity Prep Shift: 4 pm – 6 pm

Clean up and prepare for the next day’s activities

WEDNESDAY

Field Trip Chaperones Shifts: 8 am – 4 pm

Travel to facility with Campers
Campers will be:

Touring the facility
Participating in a Pipe Bending Exercise
Interactive BIM Experience
Listening to a Career Panel
Circuit Wiring Lesson/Exercise

You will be with the Campers as instructors lead these panels/exercises/activities and need to commit to the full day.

THURSDAY

Group Leaders Shifts: 8 am – 12 pm and 12 pm – 4 pm

Heavy Equipment Demo and Exercise
Framing/Woodworking Lessons
Doghouse Build Project
Return Camper Group Activity TBD

Next Day Activity Prep Shift: 4 pm – 6 pm

Clean up and prepare for Doghouse Build project Finish-up.

FRIDAY

Group Leaders Shifts: 8 am – 12 pm and 12 pm – 4 pm

Paint Lesson
Paint & Finish Doghouse Builds
Return Camper Group Activity TBD
Trade Talks Program
Graduation

Final Cleaning and Loading Shift: 4 pm – 6 pm
